Newcomer Spotlight – Kyle Perez

MIAMI (Aug. 15, 2016) – With two weeks of fall football camp completed, FIUSports.com will continue to spotlight the team's newcomers with a number of fun and interesting questions.
 
Each day, we will talk to multiple first-year Panthers. Today's second spotlight will feature defensive back Kyle Perez, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound sophomore from Plantation, Florida.
 
If you weren't playing football, what would you be doing?
I'd would be in school, pursuing my degree in communication arts. I plan on pursuing architecture in the future.
 
16320Who do you model your game after/who is your favorite pro-athlete?
My favorite athlete is Harrison Smith (Vikings) because I feel that we have a lot in common. I love the way he plays.

Adam Sandler
 
What's the number one song or most recent song on your playlist?
I don't listen to music much. I just go on SoundCloud and listen to the top trending music.
 
What's your favorite football movie?
The Longest Yard

Do you have any special hidden talents?
Not that I can think of.
 
What is your favorite app/what app do you use the most?
Instagram and Snapchat

The 2016 FIU football season will kick off on Thursday, Sept. 1, when the Panthers host the Indiana Hoosiers.

FIU's 2016 schedule is highlighted with games against Miami Beach Bowl and 2015 C-USA champion WKU, R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl champion Louisiana Tech, St. Petersburg Bowl champion Marshall, Popeyes Bahama Bowl participant Middle Tennessee, and New Era Pinstripe Bowl participant Indiana. In addition, the Panthers will face Maryland, Massachusetts, UCF, Florida Atlantic, UTEP, Charlotte and Old Dominion.
