Prior to FIU: Played high school baseball at Bishop McLaughlin High...Had a 0.91 ERA and struck out 117 in his senior season, also hit .315 with 9 HR and 32 RBI...Named Florida Dairy Farmers Class 3A Player of the Year...Earned Bishop McLaughlin Hurricane Pride Award in 2015 and was MVP his freshman year...Also played basketball in high school...Recruited by Central Florida, South Florida, North Florida, Charlotte, Clemson, Bethune-Cookman, Notre Dame and Duke.
