2016 @FIUFootball Spring Practice Begins March 7

MIAMI (Feb. 19, 2016) – The FIU football team will begin preparation for the 2016 season on March 7 when Head Coach Ron Turner begins spring practice. FIU will hold 15 practice sessions concluding on Friday, April 15.
 
The Panthers open their spring practice schedule on Monday, March 7. FIU will practice five times before holding the first of four controlled scrimmages on Friday, March 25. The Panthers are scheduled to hold controlled scrimmages on April 2 and April 9 and will cap off spring ball with the annual Spring Game on April 15.  

All dates and times are tentative and subject to change. If a change occurs, an updated schedule will be posted on FIUSports.com.

The 2016 FIU football season will kick off on Thursday, Sept. 1, when the Panthers host the Indiana Hoosiers.


FIU's 2016 schedule is highlighted with games against Miami Beach Bowl and 2016 C-USA champion WKU, R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl champion Louisiana Tech, St. Petersburg Bowl champion Marshall, Popeyes Bahama Bowl participant Middle Tennessee, and New Era Pinstripe Bowl participant Indiana. In addition, the Panthers will face Maryland, Massachusetts, UCF, Florida Atlantic, UTEP, Charlotte and Old Dominion.
