MIAMI (Oct. 1 2015) – FIU Volleyball (8-6, 2-2 C-USA) return home to the friendly confines of Lime Court at FIU Arena this weekend. The Panthers will host conference rivals Marshall on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by UTEP on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Last Time Out – Last Sunday, against the Hilltoppers in Bowling Green, Ky., the Panthers lost in straight sets (25-21, 26-24, 25-15). FIU was led by senior
Lucia Castro with nine kills and three blocks. Castro and senior
Adriana McLamb led on defense with nine digs apiece. Freshman
Dominique Dodd set a career-high in assists with 14.
Scouting Marshall – The Herd will enter Friday's game with a record of 11-5 (2-1 C-USA), having defeated Charlotte and Louisiana Tech this past weekend.
Scouting UTEP – The Miners, currently 7-10 (1-2 C-USA), split games this past weekend, losing to North Texas on Friday and defeating Middle Tennessee on Sunday.
FIU's matches with Marshall and UTEP will mark the third meetings all time versus both teams. The Panthers (0-2 all-time versus both programs) will be looking to pick up their first victories versus the Thundering Herd and Miners, while getting back in the win column in C-USA action.
