Hashim Alauddeen begins his first season with the Panthers as Director of Basketball Operations/Player Personnel.

Alauddeen was the co-founder and co-director of the "Slam-n-Jam" Oakland Soldiers AAU youth basketball program, which started in 1990. Slam-n-Jam is a youth league and travel team, which has competed in national tournaments over the last 20 years. His program has sent numerous youth to college, and NBA all-stars Chauncy Billups, Drew Gooden, Eddie House, Leon Powe, Kendrick Perkins and NBA Superstar Le Bron James have all played for the Soldiers.

Alauddeen has also worked with Goodwin Sports Management as an international scout and in player development. He has personally worked closely with Sacramento Kings' forward Shareef Abdur Rahim and 7-foot-6 Iranian Jaber Rouzbahani and 7-foot-3 Memphis Grizzlies' Hamid Haddadi.

In 2006, Alauddeen coached "Shakur Village" Soldiers to the championship of Main Event.  Shakur Village produced 10 top Division I scholarship players over a two year span.

Alauddeen played basketball at Contra Costa College with basketball street legend Demetrius "Hook" Mitchell.

A graduate with a BA and MA from UC Berkeley in African Diaspora and Near Eastern Studies, Alauddeen has lectured in religious studies at UC Berkeley and taught African American studies at Contra Costa College. He has also taught at Berkeley High School and Jack Yates High School in Houston, TX.

Alauddeen has lived and studied overseas and speaks Persian and Arabic.

Raised by his mother Dr. Beverly Palley, Alauddeen is married to Zahra Rezapour and has a son, Yahya-Husayn Al-Hashimi.
