R. Kirk Landon Field House Weight Room
The R. Kirk Landon Field House Weight Room boasts one of the largest weight rooms in the south east, and has the distinction of being labeled a Hammer Strength Certified Training Facility. The 14,000 square foot clear span weight room has thirty foot ceilings and contains 26 in-ground platforms.
The in-ground platforms are designed to function as a dynamic warm-up area as well as an Olympic Lifting Area. In addition to the mentioned platforms, the weight room contains over 40,000 lbs of weights, 30 plate loaded Hammer Strength Machines, a turf area, and cardiovascular area. Due to its sheer enormity and savvy design, the FIU Strength and Conditioning staff can comfortably train over 150+ student athletes at once.
