FIU might have a new starting quarterback Saturday if Jake Medlock cannot go against Louisville. Medlock sustained a mild concussion last Saturday and is day-to-day. E.J. Hilliard got all the first team snaps today in practice and could get the starting nod on Saturday. Safety Demarkus Perkins is expected back Saturday.

FIU basketball coach Anthony Evans added five new players to the Panthers team. Evans added some size at guard and forward with three freshmen: 6-7 guard Dominique Williams from Charlotte, 6-6 forward Jason Boswell from the Bronx, and 6-7 forward Jonas Page from Pennsylvania. 6-10 forward Adrian Diaz (Kansas State transfer) and 6-1 guard Ray Rodriguez (North Florida transfer) will have to sit out this season because of NCAA transfer rules. CLICK HERE to read more about those five.

Major League great Jim Kaat will be the speaker at the 2014 FIU Baseball/Softball Diamond Dinner on Feb. 8. Kaat won 283 games during his MLB career. CLICK HERE for more on the 2014 Diamond Dinner.
