Conference USA released its composite schedule today. FIU has two bye weeks during the season. The Panthers play their four non-conference games right off the bat with a bye week before CUSA play begins. FIU opens its new conference play at Southern Miss on Oct. 5.
FIU then has three straight home games against UAB, Louisiana Tech and East Carolina with a bye in between the UAB and La. Tech games.
With three of the last four games on the road, the Panthers could run into cold weather at Middle Tennessee, Nov. 9 and at UTEP on Nov. 16. Don Shula Bowl XII is the season finale on Nov. 30 in Boca Raton. The Conference USA Championship game is Dec. 7.
